Task Batching refers to batching similar tasks together. Some of you may already be task batching subconsciously, but being intentional with it will help you to increase your efficiency even more. For my information on task batching, check out my Introductory blog article here.
What does it mean to Task Batch Your Days?
Task batching your days refers to batching similar tasks per day. It means batching repetitive tasks into the same days each week. The best way to exemplify this is via cleaning tasks. For example, doing all laundry tasks on Mondays, all kitchen cleaning on Tuesdays, all floor cleaning Thursdays and all grocery and meal prep on Fridays.
How Task Batching Your Days Can Help
Simply put, it increases your efficiency. When you have specific days dedicated to certain housekeeping tasks, it becomes more predictable. You spend less time planning and figuring out what tasks to do when and you can spend more time on the actual tasks.
How is this Different from Template To-Do's/Doing the Same Thing Every Week?
Task batching your days leaves room for different tasks week to week. You don't necessarily need to do a full deep clean of your sink every week or clean your oven every week. But by deeming Tuesdays your kitchen clean day, you can tackle any kitchen cleaning that needs to get done on Tuesdays.
It allows you more flexibility to cycle in tasks that maybe only need to get done once a month, but you can keep the predictability of doing the same type of housekeeping on the given days.
Example of Task Batching Your Days:
Mondays = Laundry Day
Tuesdays = Kitchen Cleaning Day
Wednesdays = Windex and Misc. Day
Thursdays = Floor Cleaning Day
Friday = Grocery and Meal Prep Day
Saturdays = Bathrooms
Sundays = Family Fun Day
