3 Things to Start TODAY to Increase Efficiency

A big struggle plaguing many people is where do I start? I always say start small. Start small and make it manageable. If you take on too much, too fast, you’re more likely to become burnt out and quit.

Three things you can start TODAY to increase your efficiency and productivity are: making your bed in the morning, daily affirmations, and an accessible to-do list.

Make Your Bed Everyday

Why? It’s one productive task that you can complete right away, every morning. Research shows that it can help you feel more productive and improve your overall view of your surroundings and life.

Making your bed every morning is a great way to get something done right away. It’s a time commitment of less than 5 minutes that can alter the trajectory of your day for the better. The emotional and mental boost will help you take on your day feeling more satisfaction about yourself and your level of productivity.

Daily Positive Affirmations

Feeling good about oneself will improve your mood and can have a positive effect on your willingness to be productive. Completing these simple tasks every day will boost your view of your own productivity.

When writing my own daily positive affirmations, I simply take out paper and pen and write down 5-10 positive statements about myself. Examples of affirmations are:

  • I am smart.

  • I can do anything I set my mind to.

  • I am a great mother.

  • I deserve to be happy.

  • I am worthy of love and respect.

Start a To-Do List

Starting a to-do list today will save you time, energy and headache not only tomorrow, but for as long as you maintain your list. Your to-do list should be ongoing and accessible. Meaning, it should be meant to be updated whenever something pops into your head, and it should be easy for you to access at nearly any time.

To-Do lists are helpful in increasing efficiency and time management because they allow you to write and forget, keep you organized and allow for sharing and delegating.
